That’s a very shortsighted point. Good intentions don’t necessarily make good laws. A lot of thought has to go into the possibilities of what could happen, both good and bad outcomes. Also, enforcing existing laws are often more effective than creating new ones. Your point essentially is that nothing bad has happened. Whether nothing happens today, tomorrow or next year is irrelevant. Avoiding tyranny is always. Any law that creates the conditions possible to oppress people am a bad law.
