Victoria Romans might have national healthcare, but we all pay for it either via state taxes and contributions or separate medical tax which in my opinion is just health insurance by another name
I’m In the UK and our great NHS is on its knees underfunded, masses of waste and management structures used and abused by nationals and internationals and only kept going by the goodwill of its hardworking staff. Patrice Lion Vermont is absolutely gorgeous but there are definitely some red zones. The winters are very cold and long but if you’re outdoorsy it’s amazing. As with most things the Proof that Tony Stark has a heart I love you 3000 shirt is probably somewhere in the middle nothing wrong with a contribution based system provided it’s not a for profit system. The reason Vermont doesn't have a lot of people is due to exceedingly high taxes that negatively impact businesses and residents very few meaningful career oriented, high paying jobs for workers and a repressive regulatory environment and NIMBY policies that stifle land and real estate development and redevelopment to improve and expand the housing stock as well as commercial and industrial commerce. Great for tourists, sure, but not a viable economy to support an expanding population due to a highly progressive, blue state agenda. Ultimately that's what the residents of the state want. Lots of space and a Greenpeace inspired landscape, which is more important to them than achieving low cost living, high paying jobs and more people.
